Known issues
“Early” upshifting

A lot of owners notice when accelerating, for a few seconds nothing happens. This is caused because the gearbox is upshifting and a higher gear is pre-selected. But while accelerating the gearbox wants to shift in a lower gear, this causes the delay in acceleration. This can be adjusted with the use of TVS custom DSG software.

Unusual noises from the gearbox

The gearbox downshifts at the wrong moment, which causes these noises. This is easily adjusted with the software.

Unusual noises when braking, only when the car comes to a standstill

When you are braking and almost coming to a standstill, sometimes noises can be heard from the gearbox. The same noise can be heard when changing from P to D, releasing the brake, and the car starts rolling forwards. After adjusting the software often, the noise is gone, or at least less.

Gearbox downshifts when the driver goes full throttle, even though the driver wants to stay in the same gear

When the driver goes full throttle, the gearbox wants to downshift, this will cause a time delay. Especially with a diesel engine, this can be unnecessary because it has more than enough torque to accelerate. This can be adjusted to personal preferences, for instance only downshifting when the pedal is all the way down. It is also possible to reprogram the S to another D, without downshifting when flooring. The S function is barely used by TDI drivers.

The S function is too aggressive, gearbox upshifts extremely late and downshifts early

It is possible to adjust the S function to a sportier function of the D. The means the D stays original and the S will become an advanced/sportier D program.

The gearbox upshifts automatically at max rpm

When the engine hits max rpm, the gearbox automatically will upshift even though the driver doesn’t want to. This can be adjusted with the use of software, this is possible in the D, S or M function. This will prevent that the gearbox will automatically upshift.

The car shakes when the clutch engages or when upshifting

This problem can be easily fixed with the use of our software

When accelerating the gearbox flies out of gear

Another issue which can be fixed with the use of our software

The gearbox doesn’t shift properly at high rpm’s

Most common when shifting from 4th to 5th gear, at full throttle. Around 4000 rpm the engine holds down, after a couple of seconds the gearbox finally upshifts.

The gearbox only shifts in the 1st and 2nd gear.

Is it possible that the gearbox won’t upshift any further than 2nd gear, but is possible when you use the manual mode. This can be solved with the use of our software.

A little shock when upshifting from 5th to 6th gear

This issue is only occurring on the Golf/Passat/A3 with the V6 engine. You can contact us so we can solve it.
